C4C Organization Team

We are grateful to introduce Change for Climate project's organization team. Here are their stories in the fields of youth, environment and many others.

Oğuz Tosun - Project Manager

Oğuz completed his third year studying Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. His freshman year he became involved with the European Students’ Forum (AEGEE), which changed his life and set him on his current path. Through this organization he has participated in several international youth programs with different focuses including topics on environment and democracy. He was elected as one of the board members of AEGEE-Environmetal Working Group at European level. Lastly, he participated in SUSI - The Institute on Global Environmental Issues which was hold in Hawaii, Colorado and Washington D.C. for five weeks. Academically, he has focused on “Climate Change and Rural Ecology” and is focused on finding a position in the environmental sector as a policy maker upon his graduation.

Berina Mina Kılıçarslan - Content Manager

Berina is a junior student in Environmental Engineering Department at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara - Turkey. She has preferred to study at Environmental Sciences since the mission that she felt obligation to ensure an integrated high quality environmental engineering applications between the nature and humanity while today’s world in a struggle with the Climate Change and Pollution Fact. Therefore, her first professional work experience was about waste and industrial waste water treatment processes in TAI Inc.-Ankara as a water quality and quantity analyst and observer in 2015. In the same year; she and one of her colleagues create a project about sustainable green energy development for the International Green Brain Contest. Meanwhile, she is a volunteer of the Sustainable Academy in Turkey and planning to focus on the solutions of the Climate Change and sustainability topics as a researcher who is in an honest and sincere manner against the nature since the start and finish.

Elif Sena Uzunpınar - Project Consultant

Sena graduated from environmental engineering department at Middle East Technical University. During her undergraduate years, she has involved in AEGEE (European Students’ Forum) as a volunteer. Through AEGEE, she worked both at national and international levels actively. Additionally, she worked in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Ankara Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration General Directorate as an intern. Moreover, she also participated in SUSI-Social Entrepreneurship Institute in 2011 summer. Upon her graduation, she finished her master at Middle East Technical University. Recently, she is working the environmental engineering department of Middle East Technical University as graduate assistant and looking for PhD programs on Climate Change and Climate Science.

Aziz Mert İpekçi - Public Relations Director

Aziz Mert is a 5th year medical student in Baskent University Faculty of Medicine and he had spent my last 5 years by actively working in TurkMSIC and IFMSA in many fields mainly on sexual health. Lastly, he participated in SUSI-The Institute Public Policy Making which was hold in Illınois and Washington D.C. for five weeks. After his graduation, he wants to be a public health specialist who works on reproductive health issues. Additionally, he has worked for many public relations process during different youth projects.

Şenel Eğilmez - Information Technology Coordinator

Şenel is studying Computer Engineering at Cukurova University. Ms. Egilmez currently volunteers for many projects, most of which focus on her passion for working with children, the elderly and stray animals. She also works with a project focused on the cultivation of healthy and GMO-free fruits and vegetables. Lastly, she participated in SUSI -  The Institute on Global Environmental Issues which was hold in Hawaii, Colorado and Washington D.C. for five weeks. She wants to create positive changes in society and does this through her volunteer efforts. She is also passionate about writing and has received many awards and honors for her short stories and poetry. Ms. Egilmez’s future goal is to write instructive works about environmental issues to help guide and influence people from all over world.

Nazlıcan Kaya - Fundraiser

She is a sophomore student in Foreign Language Teaching Department at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara - Turkey. She preferred this department because she has always enjoyed learning new languages, literary works, different cultures and so on. She can speak English, (Advanced Level) Spanish, French (Pre-Intermediate Level) and she has also started to learn Arabic. She is a former Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study student and I spent 11 months in the U.S.A (2 months in Iowa and 9 months in Hawaii) with a full scholarship from the Department of State. Since she came back she has been doing volunteer work for AFS (American Field Service). Last year she volunteered for Exchange Student Hosting Comitee and Fundraising Committee. For fundraising committee she organized a student party. This year she is working for Project Comitee. Recently she is leading a Women Project which aims to raise awareness about the hardships women face. I was so inspired by my stay in Hawaii because people try to keep environment as clean and as untouched as possible and respect the place they live in. By working for this project she expect to raise awareness in her community and country too.

Burcu Çuvaş - Project Consultant

Burcu graduated from Psyhcology department at Middle East Technical University. She is a PhD candidate and studying Social Psychology at Middle East Technical University. She is academically keen on issues related to attitute and attitude change; especially, attitudes towards environmental protections. Recently, she has been working as research and teaching assistant at Department of Psychology of TED University. Up to her this job, she was working in orphans’ asylum and center for women who are victim of domestic violence. She likes to work in community based organizations.
